With thousands of options, how do you select the best stone for your home? It is important to play up the homes character and design aesthetic. If you choose incorrectly, the fireplace may look like an afterthought. Incorporate the tones and style of the brick or stone on the exterior of the home, if possible. You can still bring the fireplace up to date while maintaining the homes history. If you have a stone fireplace that looks outdated but is in great condition, simply update it. Paint the fireplace surround and update the mantel. This is an economical way to give your fireplace a face lift.
